Centre demands immediate release of arrested VHP leaders

New Delhi, Oct 15: Voicing concern over
"deterioration" of the situation in Ayodhya following the
arrest of some senior VHP leaders, Minister of State for Home
Swami Chinmayananda today demanded release of the arrested
leaders to allow peaceful holding of 'Sankalp Sabha' at a
venue outside the religious township.

"A new situation has arisen in the wake of the arrests of
the VHP leaders, sealing of Ayodhya from all sides and
consequent non- availability of essential commodities," he
told a news agency, while giving details of the developments in the
temple town.
