Mumbai, Dec 24: A day after he tendered his
resignation as Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, feisty NCP
leader Chhagan Bhujbal, under attack in connection with the
multi-crore fake stamp paper scam, today said he would
continue to fight against the Opposition campaign.

"I am known as a fighter. I will not quit the battle
ground and continue my fight," Bhujbal said when his attention
was drawn to his recent statement that he would not quit in
the wake of Opposition allegations against him in connection
with the fake stamp-paper racket.

The former Deputy Chief Minister said that he
put in his papers only because of the attack by NCP activists
on the office of Alpha Marathi channel, a sister concern of
Zee Telefilms.

"Media played a vital role in propagating to people my
fight against injustice. So if media was victimised because of
me, then as a Home Minister I must take penance for it. That
is the reason for my resignation", the NCP leader clarified.

To a query, Bhujbal said he would continue to work
relentlessly as the NCP leader and would be attending the
party`s two-day brainstorming session beginning here in the
afternoon.

Asked about possibility of organisational post coming his
way, Bhujbal declined to comment on it and said "I am a
member of the Upper House of the State Legislature and can
deliver as an MLC also."
