Lalu seeks permission to perform Chhath Puja in Mumbai

Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav’s party, RJD has sought permission from the Mumbai police to perform ‘Chhath Puja’ – the main festival of Biharis – in Dadar-Chaupati.

Mumbai, May 12: Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav’s party, RJD has sought permission from the Mumbai police to perform ‘Chhath Puja’ – the main festival of Biharis – in Dadar-Chaupati.
The application for seeking permission was submitted to the Dadar-Chaupati police.

The RJD move came after MNS chief Raj Thackeray dared Lalu Yadav to celebrate Chhath Puja in Mumbai. The Railway Minister had reacted by saying that he would perform the puja in front of Raj’s house, in response to which the MNS chief had said: "Let him come. We will see how he returns."

It is noteworthy that Raj resides near Dadar-Chaupati, where Lalu Yadav had sought permission to perform the puja.
