New Delhi, Apr 11: The NDA would take steps to impose President's rule in RJD-ruled Bihar if it returns to power to put an end to "jungle raj" there, NDA convener George Fernandes said today.
"I am even prepared to sacrifice my life for change of government and put an end to jungle raj in Bihar," he told mediapersons in an interview.

Fernandes' remarks came close on the heels of a statement by Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani during his 'Bharat Uday Yatra' that the NDA government would not dismiss the Rabri Devi government but it would be removed by the people themselves.

"If there is no change of government in Bihar, the state will perish and if that happens, the country will be
finished," Fernandes said, recalling that the Centre had earlier tried to place the state under President's rule but the RJD government was saved by Left parties and Congress.

The situation in Bihar was "pitiable" and kidnapping for ransom had become order of the day there, he said, adding people were migrating to other states in panic. Even the High Court there had observed that the state
appeared to be under "jungle raj', he said, asserting that only change of government would improve the situation.

He held the present RJD government responsible for the backwardness of the state.
