No release of funds under MPLADS till end of polls: EC

New Delhi, Mar 01: The Election Commission today put a ban on the
release of fresh funds under the MPs Local Area Development Scheme
(MPLADS) till the end of the Lok Sabha election process.

The ban is applicable even in the case of nominated members of the
Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, the commission said in a directive.

The restriction also applies to development funds of MLAs and
MLCs.
