Nagapattinam, Jan 09: MDMK General Secretary Vaiko
said today his party's decision to quit NDA will not be
reconsidered and despite his continued detention under Pota
he is not worried about the "consequences" of not aligning
with the BJP.

Vaiko, who was brought to a court here in connection with
a case, told reporters that there would be no change in his
party's decision to quit NDA.

He was "not perturbed about any eventuality that might
arise from not aligning with the BJP", he added.

Vaiko said he was reciprocating the "brotherly affection"
shown by DMK Chief M Karunanidhi towards him by choosing to
align with the DMK for the coming Lok Sabha polls.

He said a strong alliance under the leadership of the
Karunanidhi would emerge soon.

"Why are you thinking in that direction", he asked when a
reporter asked him about the critical remarks made by him when
DMK did not allot the required seats sought by his party
during the last Lok Sabha polls.

Besides Vaiko, some members of the DMK and the communist
parties were brought to the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court
in connection with some incidents during the election campaign
in 1983 by-poll for Mayiladuthurai Assembly constituency. The
CJM Janathan Gnaniah, adjourned the case to February 20.
