College security supervisor booked for molesting student in Mohali

The security supervisor of a law college has been booked for molesting a first year student, police said.

Mohali: The security supervisor of a law college here has been booked for molesting a first year student, police said Saturday.

Amandeep Singh, in his late 30s, is the security supervisor of Army Institute of Law. The victim, a resident of Gurgaon, was staying at the college`s hostel.

"The girl says she had gone to a beauty parlour on Jan 23. She came back at 8 p.m., missing the 7.30 p.m. deadline to enter the hostel," police officer Harbans Lal said.

"She requested Amandeep to put the entry as 7.30 p.m. The accused said that he could do that for her and forcibly embraced her and kissed her," he added.

The college authorities have ordered an internal probe into this matter.

However, Amandeep denied the allegations. "The girl had returned late and told me to put the timing of her arrival as 7.30 p.m. When I refused to do it she raised a false alarm. I have already made my stand clear in my two-page statement submitted with the institute`s principal," said Amandeep.

Mohali town is around 10 km away from the state capital Chandigarh.
