Improvement of facilities in hostels in Raj: Minister

Social Justice and Empowerment minister Arun Chaturvedi on Monday announced an improvement of facilities in hostels run by the department in the state.

Jaipur: Social Justice and Empowerment minister Arun Chaturvedi on Monday announced an improvement of facilities in hostels run by the department in the state.

Replying to the demand for grants (social justice department) in Assembly, the minister said that solar lights will be installed in 17 residential schools in the new financial year and biometric attendance system will be put in place in all hostels for better monitoring of students.

He said on the initiative of chief minister, old age homes with star-rating will be set up with public partnership.

He informed the House that the department has released pensions in 92 per cent cases.

Tribal Area Development Minister Nandlal Meena in reply to the demand for grants for his department, also announced providing a power connection in every district under the tribal subplan areas under Kutir Jyoti Yojna.

He said the government will initiate inquiry in the allotment of natural resources in the TSP areas made by the former government and added that the commissioner of the department will conduct the inquiry and submit report in three months.

The demands were passed by voice votes after the replies of the minister.
