Bresnan can bat permanently at No. 6 or 7 for England: Swann

England spinner Graeme Swann believes that Tim Bresnan, who is a top class all-rounder can bat permanently at No. 6 or 7 for the national team.

London: England spinner Graeme Swann believes that Tim Bresnan, who is a top class all-rounder can bat permanently at No. 6 or 7 for the national team.
“Tim is a very good lower-order player. He should have got a Test hundred by now, but keeps throwing it away, whenever he gets near three figures. He’s a top-class all-rounder. His batting is good enough and, in a couple of years, he could bat at six or seven for England permanently,” The Mirror quoted Swann, as saying.
“If he keeps improving as he is, he is going to be phenomenal. He’s only 27, but it seems like he’s been playing for Yorkshire since he was 12.To be fair, he probably has – not that I’ve looked at the stats!” Swann added. His statement came after Bresnan was included in the 16-man squad for the Sri Lanka series after missing the 3-0 drubbing by Pakistan due to an elbow injury. In addition to his three half-centuries with the bat, Bresnan has 41 Test wickets at an impressive average of 23.6. ANI
