Washington: Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar has said that his fighters have infiltrated the Afghan police and Army and are successfully killing a growing number of US-led coalition forces.
Omar released his message to news organisations in an e-mail.
According to CBS News, 34 foreign troops have been killed in attacks by Afghan forces or militants disguised in Afghan uniforms so far this year.
However, the US-led coalition claimed that only 10 percent of the attacks could be linked to infiltrators.
In his message, the Taliban leader also urged his fighters to protect the life and property of Afghan civilians.
The United Nations has revealed that more than three-fourths of the 1,145 civilian deaths in the first six months of this year were blamed on insurgents, the report said.
