BJP hits out at Samajwadi Party, says lawlessness in UP will end with our win

The BJP`s Uttar Pradesh unit President Keshav Prasad Maurya on Wednesday lashed out at the state`s Samajwadi Party government in the state, and asserted that lawlessness in the state would come to an end if his party was voted to power.

Lucknow: The BJP`s Uttar Pradesh unit President Keshav Prasad Maurya on Wednesday lashed out at the state`s Samajwadi Party government in the state, and asserted that lawlessness in the state would come to an end if his party was voted to power.

"When BJP government comes to power in UP after the 2017 state assembly elections, the goons will either be in prison or hounded out of the state," he told a gathering in Bijnore during the Parivartan Yatra.

"The ruling SP is a party of one family which cannot think beyond its own welfare and prosperity," he said.

Defending Prime Minister Narendra Modi`s decision to demonetise the Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, he said that the scheme had considerably brought down the graft in the country, while hurting Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati the most.

"The BSP`s elephant (party symbol) had become very fat eating public money and now time has come when they will have to pay for their sins," he added. He also slammed Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi`s "drama" of standing in queue at a bank to get currency exchanged.
