Nine injured in clash in Muzaffarnagar

At least nine persons were injured when a clash broke out between two groups over a land dispute at Rajpur Chajpur village under Budhana police station in the district, police said on Tuesday.

Muzaffarnagar: At least nine persons were injured when a clash broke out between two groups over a land dispute at Rajpur Chajpur village under Budhana police station in the district, police said on Tuesday.

Padem Singh and Karanpal had a fight over possession of the land yesterday which soon turned into a violent clash when villagers joined in. Lathis and sharp-edged weapons were freely used in the ensuing clash, police said.

The injured have been identified as Padem Singh, Pratap Singh, Karanpal, Rakesh, Tejpal, Rajkumar, Nanu, Promod and Praveen. They have been admitted to a hospital, they said, adding that the matter is being investigated.

Security has been beefed up and extra police force has been deployed in village as a precautionary measures.
