UP missing girl case: 3 youths gang-raped, strangulated her

An 18-year-old girl, who went missing from Shamli and later found dead in Baghpat district on Saturday, was gang-raped and murdered by three youths who have been arrested, police said Wednesday.

Muzaffarnagar: An 18-year-old girl, who went missing from Shamli and later found dead in Baghpat district on Saturday, was gang-raped and murdered by three youths who have been arrested, police said Wednesday.

The accused identified as Akbar son of Rehmani, Akbar son of Amir and Imran were yesterday arrested on the charges of abduction, gang-rape and murder of the victim, Superintendent of Police (Shamli) Vijay Bhushan said.

The trio abducted the girl, gang-raped her and dumped her body after strangulating her, Bhushan said.

The accused have confessed of their crime, the SP said.

The girl, a resident of Basi village in Shamli district, went missing on on August 13 and was found dead at Chamrawal village of Baghpat district on August 22.
