Tehran: Iran`s chief negotiator has failed to convince Iranian lawmakers regarding the talks between Tehran and the P5+1 group of world powers over Tehran`s nuclear programme, media reported on Wednesday.
Zarif, however, failed to convince some legislators who raised questions about the nuclear negotiations, particularly the foreign ministry`s refusal to release a fact sheet regarding a mutual understanding reached between Tehran and the six global powers in Switzerland in April, and also the Iranian nuclear negotiators` alleged kowtowing to the six countries` demands, Press TV reported.
The foreign minister would, therefore, attend an open session of parliament to answer questions about the nuclear issue.
Iran and the P5+1 countries -- the US, Britain, France, China, Russia plus Germany -- reached a mutual understanding in the Swiss city of Lausanne on April 2.
Iran and the six countries are seeking to finalise a comprehensive deal on Tehran`s nuclear programme based on the Lausanne statement by the end of June.
The Iranian lawmakers could impeach Zarif.
