FIR filed against Ajay Devgan, all thanks to bungled dates

A production house based in Jharkhand has accused Ajay Devgan of cheating, as he did not assign dates for a promised movie despite having pocketed the fee.

Mumbai, March 04: Ajay Devgan has landed in rough waters all thanks to his messy schedule. A production house based in Jharkhand has accused the multiple National Award winning actor of cheating, as he did not assign dates for a promised movie despite having pocketed the fee. A police complaint has been filed against Devgan in the Jharkhand capital by Rajesh Kumar Prasad of Kumar Art International (KAI).According to sources, "The FIR was lodged in Argora police station of the city on February 27th. Devgan had not assigned dates for the movie he signed even after taking the signing amount. The complaint states that KAI, which also has an office in Mumbai, signed a movie with Devgan in January, 1995. The actor was to be paid Rs 21 lakh as his acting remuneration and KAI had paid him Rs 200,000 as his signing amount. Devgan was supposed to play the lead role in the movie, but he had spared only few hours and after that never bothered, the complaint states." The complaint further states that Prasad approached the actor`s personal secretary to get time but did not get any positive response. After waiting for 14 years, he lodged an FIR against the veteran actor. The FIR has been lodged under different sections of IPC including 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating). Prasad, a resident of Ranchi, said that Ajay`s act caused heavy financial loss and mental stress to him.
