Prakash Karat accuses govt of being anti-people, pro-industrialist
Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Prakash Karat on Sunday said that his party should strengthen its base across the country in order to fight against `communal forces` accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre of being anti-people and pro-industrialist.

Visakhapatnam: Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Prakash Karat on Sunday said that his party should strengthen its base across the country in order to fight against `communal forces` accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre of being anti-people and pro-industrialist.
"This BJP government has unleashed an attack on the rights and livelihood of the people. They are in the power only for the industrialists," he added.
Earlier today, senior CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury was unanimously elected as the party`s new general secretary at the party`s 21st National Congress in Visakhapatnam.
Yechury, who is the fifth general secretary of the CPI (M), replaces Prakash Karat who stepped down after three terms.
