Not approached anyone apart frome existing support staff: Dua

Delhi Daredevils CEO Hemant Dua clarified that former Pakistan leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed was "never approached" by the franchise for a re-appointment as spin consultant for the remainder of the ongoing Indian Premier League.

New Delhi, May 12 (PTI) Delhi Daredevils CEO Hemant Dua clarified that former Pakistan leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed was "never approached" by the franchise for a re-appointment as spin consultant for the remainder of the ongoing Indian Premier League.
"Let me put it officially. The Delhi Daredevils did not approach anyone for any position apart from the existing support staff that is in place. Any news of anyone (read Mushtaq) being approached for a coaching role is absolutely not true to the best of my knowledge," Dua said. The DD CEO also made it categorically clear that there is no chance of adding a member to the existing support staff structure as the management is happy with the efforts put in by the current regime. "We have complete faith in our current support staff and we stand by them. We believe that they are putting in their best efforts and we don`t see any need to approach anyone else at the moment," Dua added. Mushtaq had yesterday claimed that DD chief coach Gary Kirsten had approached his agent for rekindling his association with the franchise. Mushtaq had stated that he turned down the offer to take up an assignment with Pakistan`s national team.
