Lord Ganesh has removed all obstacles from my life: Govinda

When it comes to pleasing the Lord, Bollywood is known to take the lead. Be it festivals or pujas, tinsel-towners leave no stone unturned to celebrate and embrace their Gods with fervent celebrations, marked by glitz and blitz. And as the entire country chants prayers for Lord Ganesh, Bollywood too is rejoicing the ten day long festival.

Actor Govinda, who amidst much revelry celebrates the festival, has been following the tradition for long. He shared with Spicezee.com the significance the occasion holds in his life and the special tradition and rituals he follows during the festival. Spicezee: Since when have you been celebrating the Ganesh Chaturthi? Govinda: Ever since I was a child, I have been celebrating this festival. As a child, it was my mother who would make all preparations and as I grew up the tradition has been followed and I hope to pass it on to my children. Spicezee: So is praying to Lord Ganesh the reason for your prosperity? Govinda: Yes, of course. Whatever I have achieved today is all thanks to the Lord. I feel blessed to have him with us during this period. Throughout my career, I have felt that Ganesh has removed all obstacles from my life. Spicezee: How has having the Lord by your side helped you? Govinda: Ever since I have been praying to Ganesh, I have been surrounded by such blissful people. Everything that was going wrong miraculously became right. Spicezee: Since childhood you have been celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi. How has it changed for you over the years? Govinda: See when I was a child I use to pray only for the sweets and because my mom would ask me to! But as I grew up, I realized the true significance of this puja. Everything became clearer and I understood that the puja does work for your best and benefits you in mysterious ways. Spicezee: Lastly, what did you ask from the Lord? Govinda: I wouldn’t like to divulge that. But frankly speaking, we all have our selfish interests when we pray. And why not?
