Canada maul Singapore, Poland rout Italy in men`s qualifier
Canada dished out a clinical display to thrash minnows Singapore 15-1 in a one-sided game, while Poland walloped Italy 7-2, in the men`s hockey Olympic Qualification tournament.

New Delhi: Italy are now practically out of the tournament after a superior performance helped Poland down Italy 7-2 in the hockey Olympic qualifying tournament on Tuesday.
Miroslaw Juszczak converted a penalty corner in the 6th minute and Szymon Hutek followed it up to give the 19 th ranked team early lead. Juszczak added another for himself in the 34th minute. Szymon Hutek, Tomasz Gorny, Karol Majchrzak, Artur Mikula scored one goal each for the winners. Daniele Malta scored twice to reduce the margin for losers.
Easy win for Canada
Singapore’s woes continued in the hockey Olympic qualifiers on Tuesday after tournament heavyweights Canada thrashed them 15-1.
Singapore, who lost in a similar scoreline to hosts India on the inaugural day, conceded 8 goals in the first half but managed to score one through Kai Bin Chia, the only goal for them in the match, at the 13th minute.
Scott Tupper and Mark Pearson scored four goals apiece in a highly one-sided affair while Rob short also had his hand on the goal with three goals. Philip Wright, Richard Hildreth, Sukhwinder Singh and Matt Guest were the other scorers for Canada.
