New Delhi: Finally, the much anticipated Test series between India and West Indies has kicked off. Sachin Tendulkar, who is playing in his farewell series, is certainly the cynosure of all eyes.
Once again, the mad cricket crazy nation is expecting one or two good knocks from the Little Master, as they all want to see their biggest cricketing star to end his illustrious career on a high note.
All the Indian and West Indian cricketers who are playing in the two match Test series must be finding themselves lucky, to play alongside or against Tendulkar for the very last time, who not only served India for 24 long years but is also one of the biggest ambassador of the game for so many years.
Most of the West Indies team members are big fans of this little man. But they have already stated ample number of times before the start of the series that they will show no leniency while bowling to him. Fair enough. In his record breaking career Tendulkar remained the most prized wicket for any bowler or team and in the farewell series he would again be the memorable wicket for the West Indian bowlers.
On the other end Indian team is all geared up to give the ‘God of Cricket’ their last on field present by winning the series.
Indian team members dedicated their 2011 World Cup win to the Master, as it was his biggest dream. It means when Sachin hung his ODI boots a couple of few years back, he had achieved it.
Then in his last Champion League Twenty20 final, which was also the last Twenty20 for Tendulkar, Mumbai Indians won the event and gave the man a dream farewell.
We hope Indian cricket team will give him another fairytale farewell by winning the on-going series against West Indies on their home soil, to make Tendulkar’s last Test series a memorable one.
