Horniman got an important career break when Sir Pherozeshah Mehta allowed him to join his newspaper 'The Bombay Chronicle' He laid the foundation of 'unionism in the Fourth Estate' through the Press Association of India In 1929, he started his own newspaper, 'Indian National Herald' and 'Weekly Herald' and then 'Bombay Sentinel' in 1934
