New Delhi: Abhishek Bachchan, who has been missing in the action for quite some time, is all set to make his comeback on the silver screen as he will soon begin shooting for Priyadarshan's upcoming film.

As per IANS, the film shooting will commence on June 5 in Dharamsala. "The script is ready. We are considering a few to play the heroine’s role. We have a few options and will be finalised soon. Then we will move on to others in the cast line," Priyadarshan told the news agency.

The film is said to be a family comedy in which the junior Bachchan is said to be playing the lead. It is supposedly titled 'Bachchan Singh' and will be produced by Rawail Grandsons and Kanz Films. As per reports, Abhishek will be seen playing a corrupt police officer who develops supernatural powers in the story.

Apart from Priyadarshan's project, the 42-year-old actor has also been roped in for Anurag Kashyap and Aanand L Rai's venture 'Manmarziyaan'. Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal have also signed in to star in the movie. The film is slated to go on the floors in February 2018.

Abhishek was last seen in 2016 released multistarrer 'Housefull 3'.

Meanwhile, Abhishek recently walked out of JP Dutta's 'Paltan'. Though reasons for the same was not concrete, Bollywoodlife.com claimed that the actor had assigned his dates to Priyadarshan's project and hence backed out from Dutta's film.

Buzz was also there that Bollywood' IT couple Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who were last seen together in Mani Ratnam's 'Raavan' were approached by a filmmaker with a script. However, things did not materialise between them and the union of the real-life couple on the big screen was put on hold.

"Abhishek-Aishwarya were in talks for a film with Shailesh R Singh. While Abhishek was already on board, discussions were on with Aishwarya and her team for the same. But the movie has supposedly been put on the back burner. In fact, the project has been pushed ahead indefinitely," a Bollywoodlife.com report said.

It added that both Abhishek and Aishwarya were supposed to play top cops who are married to each other and their relationship gets stuck in political crisis.
