Deepika Padukone to team up with Aamir Khan for Mogul?

Mumbai: Deepika Padukone has had just one release this year- Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat. The dimpled beauty, who recently announced her marriage date, will start working on her next, a film with Meghna Gulzar post her wedding ceremony.

Reports suggest that Deepika has also been roped in by Luv Ranjan for an untitled film co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Ajay Devgn. And if the latest is anything to go by, Deepika may be a part of the Gulshan Kumar biopic too.

According to a report in Bollywoodlife.com, Aamir, who is co-producing the film with Bhushan Kumar, wants Deepika to play the female lead in Mogul. The Piku star reportedly met Aamir at his residence a few weeks back. And this led to speculations about the two joining forces for a film.

However, it is not clear if Aamir will act in the film. For the unversed, Mogul was initially offered to Akshay Kumar, who opted out of the film for reasons unknown. A first look poster was also unveiled but the film was put on hold for a while until Aamir came on board. 

Filmmaker Subhash Kapoor, of the Jolly L.L.B fame, was on board to direct the film. However, in the wake of the #MeToo campaign and alleged sexual misconduct charges against the director, Aamir distance himself from the project. Now, the superstar is back on board as a co-producer.

Will Aamir play the titular role in the film or choose someone else? Let's wait and watch.
