Govinda miffed with makers of Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Jagga Jasoos’?

Mumbai: Anurag Basu’s ‘Jagga Jasoos’ starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif also had Govinda on board, reports suggest. A movie still featuring Govinda had surfaced on social media a few days ago and it was being believed that the veteran had a cameo appearance in the fantasy fiction.

However, that isn’t really the case. According to a report in DNA, Govinda opted out of the film long back after he felt his character was not progressing well. Moreover, he had reservations essaying a 30-year-old actor’s father on screen.

A friend of the actor reportedly said that he was persuaded by director Anurag Basu to play Ranbir father.

“Arnold Schwarzenegger was supposed to play the villain against Rajinikanth in 2.0. Would Akshay Kumar like it if this fact was played up everywhere?” DNA quoted Govinda’s friend as asking.

‘Jagga Jasoos’ is one of the most awaited films of the year. Also starring Katrina Kaif, ‘Jagga Jasoos’ was initially slated to release last year but since Basu wanted it to be close to perfection, he invested more time to it.

The film is finally releasing on July 14.
