New Delhi: The 'Raees' frenzy has taken over the internet—all thanks to the amazingly breathtaking trailer which released today. The film which is based on the life and times of a popular bootlegger shows Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role with Nawzuddin Siddiqui playing a pivotal part.
'Raees' also stars Pakistani actress Mahira Khan in an important role, and this definitely is going to be the talk of the town. At the trailer launch event, the makers were asked if Mahira will promote the film in the film, to which producer Ritesh Sidhwani had a perfect reply.
PTI was quoted as saying, “I think when we start the promotions and if we find it necessary to involve her, bring her here, we will do it. I don't think there will be any restriction for her from the government or issuing visa to her will be a problem. We will decide about her involvement.”
Pakistani artistes faced a ban in the wake of deadly Uri attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, where as many as 19 jawans lost their lives. The demand for putting a ban on Pak artistes had affected Karan Johar's 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' as the release was almost stalled as it had Fawad Khan in a cameo.
Shah Rukh is seen romancing Mahira and when asked about his experience of working with her Shah Rukh said, "It was very nice." When prodded further if the makers fear another backlash, Shah Rukh interrupted, saying Sidhwani has already answered the question.
'Raees' is directed by Rahul Dholakia and is set to hit the screens on January 25, 2017.
