Manicurist sued for stealing away top client Lady Gaga from nail salon

A manicurist has been sued for 35,000 dollars over stealing away Lady Gaga as a client from a Manhattan nail salon.

New York: A manicurist has been sued for 35,000 dollars over stealing away Lady Gaga as a client from a Manhattan nail salon.
Hair Room Service claims its former manicurist Aya Fukuda broke a contract not to take clients, New York Daily News reported.
The high-end salon service run by hair guru Michael Duenas is showing Gaga’s nails to condemn the breach. According to the suit, Fukuda, a native of Japan, agreed when she signed an employment contract with HRS in July 2010 that she would not “appropriate any client” from Duenas’ business. HRS says it booked Fukuda to work with Gaga on many occasions between December 2010 and June 2011. That’s when Fukuda’s lawyer told HRS she wanted to end their contract. HRS said that when it refused to give Fukuda a termination agreement, she quit and continued to work with Gaga, billing her directly. Fukuda’s elaborate designs, including the creation of Gaga’s talon look and her fingertip application of Swarovski crystals and precious metals, have received a fair amount of attention in the last year. HRS touted Fukuda’s skills, telling the world that she designed Gaga’s fingertips for her ‘Born This Way’ video. Fukuda promised the firm 40 percent of everything she charged for the 200 dollars-plus manicures, according to court papers. Now, the celebrity beauty service is asking for 25,000 dollars in commissions and 10,000 dollars in legal fees. But HRS, which says it services VIPs from Mariah Carey to Michael Bloomberg, does not name Gaga in the suit. ANI
