I`ll miss directing `Dhoom 3`: Sanjay Gadhvi

Sanjay Gadhvi admits he will miss being a part of 'Dhoom 3'.

Mumbai: Moving away from the third instalment of the popular "Dhoom" franchise was a conscious decision for Sanjay Gadhvi, but the director admits he will definitely miss being a part of "Dhoom 3".
"Dhoom 3", a Yash Raj Films project, is being shot in Chicago with Aamir Khan in the lead and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, while Gadhvi is busy promoting his new film "Ajab Gazabb Love" in India.
"I will definitely miss being a part of `Dhoom 3` as it is very close to my heart. There is so much warmth and affection related to it - whether its with Aditya Chopra or the cast. This is the film which gave me recognition," Gadhvi told IANS. "It was a consious decision to not direct `Dhoom 3` as I didn`t want to get stuck in making the same kind of cinema. I didn`t want to go on doing the same thing again and again," he added. The previous two films of "Dhoom" franchise turned out to be blockbusters with Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra reprising their roles as ACP Jai Dixit and Ali, respectively. Gadhvi hopes the third instalment becomes a bigger hit. "If the makers of `Dhoom` franchise believe that it has the potential to be made into a third film, it is a proud moment for me, and I wish that the third film is a bigger blockbuster than the previous two films," he added. The director started his career in 2001 with "Tere Liye". He later went on to make films like "Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai", "Dhoom", "Dhoom 2" and "Kidnap". He has now helmed romantic comedy "Ajab Gazabb Love", which features Jackky Bhagnani and southern actress Neha Subbaiah. It`s a risk, but so what, says Gadhvi. "I like to take risks. All the films that I have made so far are different from one another. Rather than just being experimental, I try to focus more on strategising," he said. With "Ajab Gazabb Love", Gadhvi ventures into a new genre of romantic comedies. "I am constantly searching for new things. I had been playing with the genre in some way or the other in my films, though not in a big way. I was toying with the idea of romantic comedies for long and when this script came to me, it appealed to me instantly and I agreed to helm it," he said. IANS
