Mumbai: Actress Vidya Balan is overwhelmed that `Kahaani` bagged two national awards this year and feels that every honour for the gritty venture is her own.
Director Sujoy Ghosh won the Best Original Screenplay for `Kahaani` and the Best Editing award went to Namrata Rao while a special jury award was given to actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui for his exceptional work in the film.
In the film, Vidya played the role of a seven-month pregnant woman who comes to Kolkata from London in search of her husband. With nothing to rely on except fragments from her memories about him, it is a story of a lone woman`s relentless struggle in an unknown city.
Her strong and convincing performance fetched her many rewards this year except for the national award but Vidya is elated.
"I am happy `Kahaani` got two awards. Any award for `Kahaani` is an award for me. I am really thrilled about Sujoy getting the award. At a recent award ceremony it was fantastic to see that all the editors in the best editing category were women, so more power to us," Vidya told PTI on the sidelines of L`Oreal Paris Femina Women Awards here, where she received the Editors Choice Award for `Women We love`.
Meanwhile, gossip mills are abuzz that the national award winning actress will be playing the famous Carnatic singer M S Subbulakshmi in a biopic.
When asked, Vidya said, "I would not like to say anything much at this point in time. I have been offered the film... We are trying to work things out. That`s all I will like to say."
