Henry Cavill to star in `Godzilla`?

Los Angeles: British actor Henry Cavill has been shortlisted to star in the new ‘Godzilla’ film.

The 29-year-old, who will soon be seen donning the famous Superman costume in ‘Man of Steel’, is in contention for the lead role in Warner Bros` reboot of the monster franchise, along with ‘X-Men: First Class’ star Caleb Landry Jones and ‘Killing Them Softly’ actor Scoot McNairy. `The Dark Knight Rises` actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt was said to be the studio`s first choice to star in the blockbuster, but he reportedly turned down the role last year, reports contactmusic.com.
