Indian version of UK reality show ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ planned

London: The production crew of the ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ are quitting the hit UK reality TV show to make an Indian version.
The show’s producer, Lime Pictures, is sending his staff to well-to-do areas of Mumbai for months to scour for their versions of Mark Wright, Lauren Pope, Gemma Collins and James “Arg” Argent. “Mumbai is just like Essex in a strange way - its teeming with young people who are obsessed with themselves,” the Sun quoted a source as saying. “Bosses are looking for vain, good-looking pals to take the central roles and it hasn’t been hard. “Just like in Brentwood, the Mumbai social scene is all about looking your best and bitching about your pals and rivals,” the source added. The show will follow Mumbai’s social elite, who live in expensive homes in the sprawling city and are obsessed with Western trappings such as designer clothes and jewellery. It is one of a number of planned international versions of the show, which has taken the UK by storm. ANI
