`Sluttish` Lady Gaga and RiRi harming kids, says Mike Stock

London: Leading record producer Mike Stock has slammed pop stars like Lady Gaga and Rihanna, claiming that the ‘sluttish’ performers are using sex to compensate for their lack of talent.

The producer, who is responsible for scores of hits in the 1980s and 1990s as part of Stock, Aitken and Waterman asserted that singers, who depend on sex to sell records, are harming youngsters. The 60-year-old launched a scathing attack on acts on the singing moguls, who use risque performances and sexually-charged pop videos in contrast to the stars he helped launch in the 80s, like Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan. He complained that Pop stars like Lady Gaga and Rihanna are taking the easy route to gain fans. “It’s easy. If you haven’t got much of a sell – stick some sex in the video and the job’s done. It’s both easy and lazy. And probably shows a lack of ability to do something else,” the Daily Mail quoted Stock as saying. “It’s largely the Americans, to be honest – the new breed of rap and Lady Gaga types. They’re all just... sluttish. And young girls think they are someone worth emulating. “It`s both easy and lazy. And probably shows a lack of ability to do something else,’ he added. On the other hand praising the Grammy-award winner Adele, he insisted that she has gained fame because she has a talent. “Adele doesn`t have to resort to the sexual thing, she`s there because of the songs,” he said. Elaborating more on his comment which came after the Prime Minister began considering plans to give ‘raunchy’ music videos cinema-style age certificates, Stock insisted that the issue was not being sexy. “There’s nothing wrong with being sexy. It’s just [an issue] if it’s the only thing on offer for kids,” Stock added. ANI
