Machines control over human beings astounds Kailash Kher

Kailash Kher says he is surprised the way technology and social networking sites have controlled human emotions.

Mumbai: Singer-Composer Kailash Kher says he is surprised the way technology and social networking sites have controlled human emotions.
"Just like during the Indus Valley and the Mohenjodaro civilisation when people used to express themselves symbolically by writing on cave walls or tress, the same job is being done by Twitter and Facebook today. But what astounds me is how a machine is slowly gaining hold over a human and controlling his emotions," the singer said here at the launch of his new album ‘Rangeele’, which also features a song sung by Amitabh Bachchan.
Kailash strongly believes that today when each person has such similar ways of expressing himself, entertainment can be used to draw out and portray a human being`s hidden facets and emotions. "In today`s hectic world when each person is becoming same as the other, entertainment can be used to bring out the varied colours of a human being. You can draw out a man`s emotion, belief, love and his conviction towards a life," said Kailash who started his band Kailasa in 2006. He is known for his Sufi songs like ‘Saiyaan’ and ‘Teri Deewani’. He is closely associated with Bollywood too and his first song was ‘Rabba ishq na hove’ in 2003 film ‘Andaaz’. His other film hits are ‘Rang deeni’ (‘Dev’), ‘Yun hi chala chal’ (‘Swades’), and ‘Chakde phatte’ (‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’), among others. IANS
