India's wholesale inflation declines to a 66 month low

Inflation dropped to a five and a half year low of - 0.39 per cent in January due to falling oil prices.

New Delhi: Inflation dropped to a five and a half year low of - 0.39 per cent in January due to falling oil prices.

Inflation according wholesale price index (WPI) was reported at 0.11 per cent in December. The data for November was revised downwards to a negative - 0.17 per cent, from the provisional estimate of zero.
Food inflation in January rose to a six month high of 8 percent, according to government data.
