London: Tony Parker, who returned to the basketball court to represent France in a warm up game, donned a pair of protective goggles to protect his fragile eyes, after he suffered a scratched retina after ``taking punches`` and being hit by smashing bottles during the Drake-Chris brawl in New York last month.
The San Antonio Spurs favourite recently underwent surgery to get his left eye fixed after a shard of glass penetrated ``99 percent`` of his eyeball. The 30-year-old, who was married to Eva Longoria, had previously explained that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time when the fight broke into the W.i.P club. “I was with my friend Chris Brown and me and my friends took some punches. So I``ll be missing the start of the French team because I can``t do anything for a week except keep the lens in and then take drops,” he said. “They started throwing bottles everywhere. I don``t know what happened. “At first it was okay, but then it started getting worse and when the plane landed it was really hurting so I went straight to the ER,” he added. ANI
