Chennai: Tamil comedian Vadivelu, who returns to acting after a hiatus of around two years with the comedy ‘Thenali Raman’, wishes for a flourishing homecoming and says he missed being busy.
"It is great to be back especially after a while. I wish to be as busy and successful as I was before in this homecoming," Vadivelu told reporters. "My new film will be an out-and-out comedy and I will be seen in a double role. It is a period film and I will be essaying the roles of Krishnadevaraya and Thenali Raman," he added. In a career spanning over two decades, Vadivelu has acted in over 200 Tamil films, but in the last three years he only had three releases. "There used to be a time when I did 10 to 12 films in a year, but times have changed and I should change with it. This break happened for good and I don`t wish to look back. I`d rather worry about entertaining audiences again," said Vadivelu. He also played the lead in the Tamil period comedy-drama ‘Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi’, which is likely to have a sequel in the offing. "There have been talks about a sequel, but nothing has been confirmed as of now. It was a special film and I would be glad to be part of the sequel," he added. Having been out of action for some time, competition doesn`t worry him. "I`ve always had competition, and therefore it doesn`t make a difference to me now," he said. ‘Thenali Raman’, which is being directed by Yuvaraj, will be produced by Kalpathi S. Aghoram. IANS
