Mel Gibson sued by stepmother for USD 65,000

Los Angeles: Hollywood star Mel Gibson is being sued for USD 65,000 by stepmother Teddy Joye Hicks Gibson.

Teddy, 78, who married the actor`s father Hutton Gibson in 2001 and is currently locked in a divorce battle with him, claims Mel is responsible for their break-up after her spouse filed for divorce and forced her to leave her marital home in June, reported a website. Earlier this month she filed for a restraining order against Mel, alleging the ‘Braveheart’ star had threatened her and tried to sabotage her marriage. In legal documents, Teddy said, "Mel and his sister Maura have a grudge against me because I don`t approve of controversial medical treatments they have been urging my husband to undergo for his various illnesses. "They also manipulated their ailing father into filing for a divorce, something which my devout-Catholic spouse wouldn`t usually agree to." PTI
