Future belongs to creative younger generation: Telugu producer

Chennai: Producer Bellam Konda Suresh feels that as a producer it is his "responsibility" to support and nurture aspiring directors who are the future of filmdom.
"The future belongs to the creative younger generation. As a producer I feel responsible to support and back them as much as possible. I`m glad to have introduced a few aspiring directors through my films and I hope to continue my effort," Suresh said. "Even though I`m busy making films with stars, I`m also on a lookout to produce films with newcomers," he added. He introduced director Santosh Srinivas who made blockbuster Telugu action-romantic "Kandireega", which is now being remade in Hindi. He also launched Ramesh Varma, who wielded the megaphone for not-so-successful Telugu crime-thriller "Ride". Do you feel newcomers guarantee high success rate? "Success of a film depends on the reception from the audience. Even good films made by star directors have failed miserably and so have films by first-time directors. At the end of the day, it`s the content and presentation that matters the most," he said. He recently produced small-budget Telugu romantic-drama "Bus Stop". "All recent Telugu hits such as `Ala Modalaindi`, `Ee Rojullo` and `Koncham Ishtam Koncham Kashtam` were made by newcomers. These films were successful because they had something different to offer to the audience," said Suresh. His upcoming Telugu film is Siddharth-Samantha starrer "Jabardasth". IANS
