New York: A source has claimed that Demi Lovato hit rock bottom after a fight with a female dancer while on international tour with the Jonas Brothers, which ultimately caused her to check into a rehab.

The "physical altercation" was the last straw that spurred the 18-year-old Disney Channel celeb - who has openly discussed her past battles with bullies and body image issues - to seek help, reports the New York Daily News. Lovato`s representative has said that the actress checked into a medical treatment center for "emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time." However, the representative didn``t elaborate on the specific problems. Her father told RadarOnline.com yesterday that he believed she was overwhelmed by life as a pop star. One insider close to Lovato told People magazine yesterday that the singer had recently become withdrawn. "[She] doesn``t have that same kind of love for life that she at one point had," the source said. Lovato has battled demons in the past, including bouts of self-mutilation known as "cutting," and an eating disorder, according to a source.
