Chennai: Southern filmmaker Prabhu Solomon`s Tamil drama ‘Kumki’, about a mahout and his trained elephant, is getting ready for a Diwali release.
Majorly shot in the forests of Kerala and Karnataka, ‘Kumki’, produced by Lingusamy`s Thiruppathi Brothers, will clash with Vijay`s ‘Thuppaki’ and Silambarasan`s ‘Poda Podi’ at the box office.
The release date was confirmed by music director of D. Imman when he tweeted: "`Kumki’ all set for Diwali! I`m sure the orchestral BG score will excite you."
Starring debutant Vikram Prabhu, ‘Kumki’ is the story of a mahout who guides wild elephants back to the forest to minimise destruction of villagers` properties and fields in the area he lives in.
"The post-production work is in progress and the film is getting ready for a Diwali release," a source told IANS.
