WATCH: Glenn Maxwell mocks Virat Kohli after making boundary rope save with diving effort

New Delhi: Virat Kohli headed into the Test series against Australia as possibly the most in-form batsman in the format but his performance took a 180-degree switch as he continued to produce below-par performances. The Indian skipper was dismissed for just 6 runs, with Pat Cummins getting him out caught in the slips in Ranchi today.

While Virat was batting on 6, Pujara hit a ball deep midwicket and before Glenn Maxwell could stop the ball from crossing the rope with a diving effort, India had added two more runs in their total.

What happened subsequently after Maxwell got up following his diving effort was rather unexpected. (IND vs AUS, Ranchi Test - Live Blog | Full Coverage)

The Aussie batsman was seen mocking Kohli – who had injured his shoulder with a similar diving effort on Day 1 of the same Test – by putting one hand on his shoulder, coupled witha cheeky smile.

Here's the video of the incident:-

In the previous Test in Bangalore, Kohli had stopped just short of labelling Smith a "cheat" after the Australian skipper was caught looking up to the dressing room for help for a DRS call after being caught lbw.
