Boyfriend 'promises' marriage, sexually exploits girl; case registered

NEW DELHI: A girl in Delhi has registered a complaint against her boyfriend and alleged that she was sexually exploited for the past one year by him who promised to marry her.

The 24-year-old has lodged the case at the Parliamentary Street police station.

Police have arrested the accused, Tanuj Chaudhary, who is the victim’s boyfriend. According to the police, the complainant approached them on Wednesday and lodged a complaint against the accused.

“In her complaint she said that she was in a relationship with Tanuj for the last one year and occasionally they used to get physically intimate. Recently, Tanuj refused to marry her which broke her mentally and she went into trauma,” a senior officer said.

The officer added that the victim alleged that recently Tanuj drugged her and when she became unconscious he raped her several times.

“Tanuj has been arrested and on Saturday he was taken to the Patiala Court. The accused has also been sent to police custody,” added the officer.

Both the victim and accused were colleagues in New Delhi and while working they became friends through Facebook. Gradually they became close.
