New Delhi: A class 5 student was on Thursday allegedly beaten up by a school teacher for not carrying a required notebook.
The incident took place in a Delhi-based Municipal Corporation school.
"I was badly thrashed with a pipe by a school teacher. In the past, it has happened with other students too," the student told news agency ANI.
Reacting to the incident, the school inspector said, "We are investigating the incident, also speaking to students to verify facts."
Earlier on Monday, a 10-year-old student in Pune was allegedly thrashed by his school teacher after he failed to provide the details of his Aadhaar card in school.
The beat up was such that the kid had to undergo a surgery following the brutal act. He suffered a serious injury in his knee.
The incident took place in Morya Shikshan Sanstha situated in Chinchwad area.
In September, a teacher in Kanpur was sacked for mercilessly hitting a student with a wooden duster in the classroom, resulting in a fracture in his hand.
The incident took place in Stepping Stones School in the city. The teacher was reportedly angry with the student for chatting with his classmates during the class hour.
