New Delhi: As part of the terminal 3 expansion plan, Delhi's iconic Centaur Hotel will soon have to be razed, a newspaper report said on Monday.

As per a report in the Times of India Centaur hotel will be razed “to make way for aircraft parking bays”.

 

"The site is not needed for the fourth runway as that will be built slightly ahead of it towards the existing third runway (29). But we have to make additional parking bays and the Centaur site is needed for that," TOI quoting a senior airport official said.

The Delhi International Airport Pvt Ltd (DIAL) says the site of the hotel “will be needed by December 2019” said the TOI report.

The 376-room Centaur Hotel was a landmark when it opened because of its glitzy interiors. It was built for the 1982 Asian Games and was considered as a city landmark.
