New Delhi: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is expected to declare results for the first paper held to recruit Multi Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) soon.

Candidates can check the result at the official website - ssc.nic.in. The exam was held from 16 September 2017 till 31 October 2017. 

Eligible candidates can then appear for the descriptive paper which will comprise of short essay/letter in English or any language which is part of the eight schedule. It will be of 50 marks and 30 minutes will be given for it.

The Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff Examination (Paper-II), 2016, will be held on 28.1.2018. 

The Staff Selection Commission is an attached office of the Department of Personnel and Training and comprises of chairman, two members and a secretary-cum-controller of examinations who are appointed on such terms and conditions as may be prescribed by the Central government from time to time. 

As per the official website, among other things, the function of SSC is to "make recruitment to (i) all group “B” posts in the various ministries/departments of the government and their attached and subordinate offices which are in the pay scales the maximum of which is Rs 10,500 or below and (ii) all non-technical Group “C” posts in the various ministries/departments of the government and their attached and subordinate offices, except those posts which are specifically exempt from the purview of the Staff Selection Commission.

Its function is also to "conduct examinations and/or interviews, whenever required for recruitment to the posts within its purview. The examinations would be held as far as possible at different centres and successful candidates posted, to the extent possible, to their home state/region."
