New Delhi: It appears that Bollywood stars' protest against Indian politicians for not allowing Pakistani artists to perform in India is getting noticed as Pakistani musician Adnan Sami is much likely to be granted an Indian citizenship.

The 'Kabhi toh nazar milao' hit-maker, who was staying for more than a decade in India, might now become an Indian citizen as the Union home ministry is mulling over granting him a citizenship by naturalization in view of his distinguished contribution to Indian music.

He was allowed to stay indefinitely in India in August, following the non-renewal of his Pakistani passport.

Adnan was born in London to a Pakistani Pashtun father and an Indian Kashmiri mother. He was brought up in an aristocratic family and educated in the UK, but on contrary to this, he has a Canadian citizenship.

Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Atif Aslam, Ghulam Ali and Ali Zafar are among other Pakistani artists, who have been recently targeted by Indian political parties for performing in the country.
