Los Angeles: From Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga to Demi Lovato and Bella Hadid, female stars raised the hotness quotient at the 58th Grammys with long slit dresses in shades of red and pink, which was otherwise dominated by safe black-and-white ensembles.

Swift went bold with a two-piece dress, combining an orange bandeu with pink skirt, marked by a high slit. In a striking similarity to Swift's outfit was singer Kimberly Schlapman's red-and-pink off-shoulder long gown.

Gaga, who went modest with her ensemble at Golden Globes, seemed to have gone back to her old flamboyant ways with a deep blue, bejeweled dress that slit up to her thigh. The look was highlighted by her flaming reddish-orange hair.

Selena Gomez opted for a custom Calvin Klein Collection tanzanite sequin dress featuring sexy side cutouts and an open back, while Lovato went for a long black slit dress. Florence Welch wore a light pink gown, which had stars and moon designed on it.

"Love me like you do" singer Ellie Goulding also wore pink, a tight-fitted Stella McCartney dress. Singer Tori Kelly wore Indian designer duo Gauri & Nainika's long green one-shoulder number.

One of the boldest outfits at the red carpet was Ciara's high-slit Alexandre Vauthier haute couture dress. Hadid wore a sexy black gown with cut-out details as she arrived alongside boyfriend Abel, also known as The Weekend. "The Big Bang Theory" actress Kaley Cuoco turned heads in a glittering jumpsuit with a cut-out section.

Carrie Underwood looked stunning in a black off-shoulder high slit gown.
Indian music composer Anoushka Shankar wore a simple blue dress by designer Manish Arora.

Ariana Grande wore a form-fitting red gown. Adele stepped out in a custom Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci gown featuring all-over embroidery with paillettes, pearls and crystals. The look flattered her figure.

The men opted for the usual monochrome suits. Justin Bieber, who came with his little brother Jaxon, looked dapper in a black tuxedo pants and a white dinner jacket by Saint Laurent.

Sam Smith showed off his trimmed physique in a night blue Thom Sweeney suit. Hollywood star Johnny Depp, who performed at the Grammys with his band The Hollywood Vampires, appeared rumpled in jeans that were too long and a vest that was a little too tight as he posed for photos on the red carpet with disheveled hair.

Singers Katy Perry and Rihanna chose to give the Grammys red carpet a miss this time.
