Mumbai: Henna or mehendi is often used as a natural colouring agent for covering grey hair. Henna is completely organic and safe. Applying henna to the hair also conditions it but some people often complain of dryness after using it.

Henna has natural properties to strengthen the roots and also protect hair from pollution. Those who often experience dryness after henna use apply this simple trick to retain natural moisture and also add sheen to the hair.

First add water to the henna to make a thick paste. Then add about 2 tablespoons of curd and 1 tablespoon of hair oil. You can also add 1-2 teaspoons of filter coffee decoction to enhance the colour. Mix it well with a beater. The consistency should be such that the mixture can be easily applied to the hair.

Adding hair oil and curd to henna will help retain natural moisture.

Keep this paste for a couple of hours in room temperature and then apply it. Leave it for about two hours and then rinse with water thoroughly. Do not use shampoo.

After drying your hair, apply oil and leave it overnight. Wash your hair with shampoo on the following day. This is help the colour to stay for longer time.
