London: Prince Harry paid tribute to his late mother Diana on her 14th death anniversary by meeting gravely ill children and young people at the annual WellChild Awards.
The 26-year-old third in line to the throne, who is patron of WellChild since 2007, was joined by celebrities including Pixie Lott, Barbara Windsor, Duncan Bannatyne and ‘Dancing on Ice’ star Laura Hamilton.
The Prince met all the winners and awarded two children during the event that took place at the InterContinental Park Lane Hotel event in London, reports the Daily Express. Harry also met Most Caring Child award winner Daisy Moore, six, who helps her mum Katie take care of her disabled older sister Molly, eight. St James’s Palace revealed that it was a quite a coincidence that Harry undertook the engagement on the anniversary of Princess Diana’s death, which he and his brother Prince William always preferred to observe privately.
