London: Music mogul Simon Cowell has donated 25,000 pounds for a three-year-old boy's cancer treatment.

"The X Factor" star first heard about Kian Musgrove's campaign to raise 500,000 pounds for treatment at a specialist clinic in America on Twitter and he called Kian's mother Kat while she was by her sick child's bedside at Royal Victoria Infirmary in North East England, reported Female First.

The 28-year-old mother said, "It was such a lovely surprise which has come at such a difficult time."

A source close to Cowell said, "He was incredibly touched when he read of Kian's story and delighted to help."

Cowell offered the money in order for the family to be able to afford to get a plane over to the US so Kian could receive the treatment for the childhood cancer he has, which had returned for a second time.

Kat says she will be "forever grateful" for Cowell's generous donation and the important role he has played in Kian's fight for his life.
