‘Makkhi’, Hindi version of director S.S. Rajamouli`s Telugu blockbuster ‘Eega’, will have a nationwide release Oct 12.

Mumbai: ‘Makkhi’, Hindi version of director S.S. Rajamouli`s Telugu blockbuster ‘Eega’, will have a nationwide release Oct 12.
Reliance Entertainment is releasing the film, which was produced by Sai Korrapati and D. Suresh Babu, said a statement. Several technicians from Hollywood, Bollywood and Southern film industry worked together to create ‘the fly’ in the high budget ‘Eega’.
Starring Sudeep (Sudeep), Samantha Prabhu (Bindu) and Nani (Jani) in lead roles, ‘Makkhi’ is a live action animation film about the revenge of a super fly. ‘Eega’ released in Telugu July 6 this year and it was also released in Tamil as 'Naane' and as 'Eecha' in Malayalam. Having reached to audience in 1103 screens in India with its Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam versions, the film`s Hindi release will further augment its reach. Its three versions have already done a gross business of over Rs.130 crore worldwide. The Hindi audience is already familiar with Rajamouli`s body of work that includes blockbuster Telugu film ‘Vikramarkudu’ (2006) , remade in Hindi as ‘Rowdy Rathore’ and his 2010 release ‘Maryada Ramanna’ (2010) is being made as ‘Son of Sardar’ in Hindi. His 2009 movie ‘Magadheera’ is also slated to be remade in Hindi. IANS
